About Spencer
Jackson

Rooted in rural values. Proven in service. Focused on Orlinda’s future.

Born and raised in Dickson County, I grew up on a third-generation cattle farm. Two of my favorite childhood memories are the day my dad bought our first round baler for my granddaddy and the night we delivered a breech calf together in the middle of a thunderstorm.

That upbringing gave me a deep appreciation for our agricultural heritage, and I am committed to protecting Orlinda’s rural character so future generations can continue to enjoy the same way of life.

Public service has always been part of who I am. I earned my Eagle Scout before I turned 15 and spent many weekends doing community projects — collecting food for local families and mowing yards for neighbors who needed help.

In college, I became a Health & Safety instructor for the American Red Cross, teaching First Aid and CPR. I also worked as a lifeguard at Montgomery Bell State Park, earned multiple deep-water and SCUBA rescue certifications, and volunteered with the Dickson County Rescue Squad.

After college, while living in Orlando, Florida, I expanded my Red Cross work into the Disaster Services division. I managed shelters during tropical storms, responded to residential structure fires, and served as a logistics manager during the 2004 hurricane season (Charley, Frances, and Jeanne). For that work, I received the Presidential Service Award.

In 2012, I became a Florida-licensed and Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). These experiences gave me firsthand insight into what strong public safety looks like — and why it matters in a small community like ours.

I moved back to Middle Tennessee in 2021. After exploring many small towns, my wife and I fell in love with Orlinda and made it our home in the spring of 2025. We’ve spent the past year restoring our 1915 house next to the park, and living in a home with that much history has only deepened our appreciation for this community.
